UM System Board of Curators to vote on architect for indoor facility

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The UM System Board of Curators will vote on an architect and engineer for the new football indoor facility in its scheduled meeting on Thursday.

MU is recommending Kansas City architect company HOK, Inc. for the project.

According to meeting documents - the total project budget for the indoor facility is expected to be $31,680,000. It will be entirely funded by donors.

The new indoor football facility will be "adjacent to the Mizzou Football Facility, completed in 2019," per documents if approved.

The meeting document states, "By locating the new indoor practice facility nearby the football facility, the team is provided excellent access for indoor activities and maximum comprehensive training facilities by preserving both outdoor fields on the west side of the Missouri Athletic Training Complex."

Mizzou anticipates the project to be completed in 18 months. The Board is expected to vote on the finalized project in May.
