Head-on crash kills one in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person is dead and two people are recovering from serious injuries after a head-on crash in Morgan County on Monday.

It happened around 4:10 p.m. on Highway 5 just north of Indigo Road, south of Versailles.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports show one vehicle was driving south when it tried to make a pass. That car and an SUV driving north swerved into the east shoulder and crashed head-on.

The Morgan County coroner pronounced a passenger in the SUV driving north, 22-year-old Tamara Deroo, dead at 4:30 p.m.

Both drivers were taken to a Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach with serious injuries.

This is Troop F's first fatality of January and first of 2021.
