Columbia police to arrest suspect after a domestic assault Thursday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police arrested a suspect after an alleged domestic assault in the 4700 block of King Salmon Way.

Upon arrival, officers got EMS on site to help out the middle aged victim that was severely beaten.

The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital to be treated for the injuries.

Officers soon found the suspect, Jeffrey Zimmerman, 48, of Columbia. Zimmerman was taken local hospital to be medically evaluated.

Once released, officials say Zimmerman will be arrested for the charges of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, kidnapping, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and property damage.
