No. 25 Mizzou football prepares for No. 9 Georgia
The Mizzou football team will host No. 9 Georgia on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The 25th ranked Tigers are coming off a thrilling win over Arkansas this past weekend. Mizzou is now 5-3 under first year head coach Eli Drinkwitz. MU has won three straight games.
You can hear Drinkwitz's full news conference from Tuesday in the video player below.
Mizzou is ranked in the College Football Playoff Top 25 for the first time since the 2018 season.
Drinkwitz said the Tigers are down to 59 scholarship players as of Tuesday. The SEC minimum is 53, so Mizzou is still in good shape to play on Saturday.
Drinkwitz said backup QB Shawn Robinson is back after missing the last two games. Kobie Whiteside and Tauskie Dove are both questionable for the Georgia game with injuries. Defensive back Jarvis Ware is out this week.
Drinkwitz added former Rock Bridge star Tre Williams is exploring options outside of Mizzou football at this time. Drinkwitz said he wishes him the best in whatever he decides to do.
Meanwhile, Georgia is 6-2 this season. The Bulldogs have won their last two games over Mississippi State and South Carolina respectively.
The winner of Saturday's matchup will take over second place in the SEC East. Florida has already clinched first place and a spot in the SEC Championship game against Alabama on Dec. 19.
