Mizzou QB earns SEC freshman of the week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou quarterback Connor Bazelak is the SEC freshman of the week. It's the second time he's earned this weekly honor.

Bazelak was 30/37 for 318 yards in the Tigers 41-0 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. MU is now 4-1 with Bazelak as the starting quarterback. The Tigers are 4-3 overall this season.

Also on Monday - Nick Bolton was named one of 16 semifinalists for the Butkus Award. This honor goes to the nation's top linebacker. Bolton had nine tackles, including one sack and two tackles for loss, in MU's win on Saturday.

Up next - Mizzou will host Arkansas on Saturday at 11 a.m.
