Missouri State University sends alert of active shooter

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 6:30 P.M.: Missouri State University said there was no active shooter situation Saturday night.

According to Springfield police, a caller heard four shots and. Two bullets hit Monroe Apartments.

Missouri State said there were no injuries.

Officers were on scene around 6:30 p.m.

ORIGINAL: Missouri State University sent out a tweet Saturday night of an active shooter situation.

According to the tweet, it happened at Monroe Apartments.

Police are telling people to avoid the area.
