COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 3:00 P.M.: Daly Elementary School in Fayette will move to online learning.

According to an email sent to Fayette R-III families, this week there were positive COVID-19 cases among staff at the school. There were also positive cases among students this weekend.

Beginning Tuesday Nov. 17 the school will be closed to preschool through fifth grade for in-person learning.

Those students will continue learning online through Nov. 24.

Students will follow the district schedule for Zoom and Google Meet sessions sent out at the beginning of the year. More details about the transition will be sent out on Monday.

There will not be classes on Tuesday Nov. 17 in order to give teachers time to prepare for the transition.

"We will have a drive-through available for families to get materials beginning at 1:00 through 6:00 on Tuesday so that they may be ready to begin distanced instruction on Wednesday," said Superintendent Jill Wiseman in a statement.
