SATURDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports 147 new COVID-19 cases

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 6:15 P.M.: The Chariton County Health Center reported six new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

Four of those cases have been released from isolation.

There have been 211 cases of the virus in Chariton County.

On Saturday 95 were active.

UPDATE 4:30 P.M.: There have been 7,248 COVID-19 cases reported in Boone County. Out of that number, 947 cases were active.

The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 147 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

There were 22 Boone County residents hospitalized with the virus on Saturday. There were 123 people in Boone County hospitals with the virus, with 36 being in ICUs.

The five day average of cases jumped to the highest number recorded since the beginning of the pandemic to 160.

ORIGINAL: The Department of Health and Senior Services reported 4,559 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The total case number has now reached 205,066.

Missouri ranks 10th in the nation for new cases with 19,680 new cases reported in the past seven days.

At least 2,672,288 Missouri residents have been tested for the virus.

The positivity rate on Saturday was 16.7%.

The state has reported 3,150 deaths related to the virus. DHSS has reported 83 deaths in the past seven days. The state also ranks #10 for new deaths.

On Saturday, 1,926 people were hospitalized with the virus.
