Rock Bridge and Tolton advance to state softball championship

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Rock Bridge and Tolton both advanced in the MSHSAA softball state tournament with wins on Saturday. You can watch the highlights and reaction in the video player above.

Rock Bridge beat Marquette 5-1 to advance to the Class 5 state title game. The Bruins will play Lee's Summit North on Thursday in the state championship. First pitch from the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield is at 5 p.m.

Tolton beat Kelly 8-1 to advance to the Class 2 state title game. The Lady Blazers will play Penney on Thursday in the state championship. First pitch from the Killian Softball Complex in Springfield is at 5 p.m.

Also of note - Tolton pitcher Paige Bedsworth is the new MSHSAA strikeout record holder. The senior now has 1,115 strikeouts in her career.

In Class 1 - Salisbury beat Leeton 12-5 to advance to the Final Four. The Lady Panthers will play Vienna on Oct. 27 for a spot in the championship game.
