Mizzou football returns from bye week to face Kentucky
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team will return to action on Saturday against Kentucky. The Tigers and Wildcats will kickoff from Faurot Field at 3 p.m.
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz held his weekly news conference on Tuesday. You can watch the full interview in the video player above.
The Tigers are still 1-2 on the season after their game against Vanderbilt was postponed last weekend due to COVID-19 concerns with the Commodores. MU's last game was an upset win over No. 17 LSU.
Kentucky has beaten MU five straight times, including two straight games at Faurot Field. The Wildcats are 2-2 so far this season, but Kentucky has won two straight games. This past weekend, UK dominated Tennessee 34-7 in Knoxville.
After strong performances against LSU, wide outs Tauskie Dove and Boo Smith have moved up the depth chart. Former starting WR Damon Hazelton is now listed as third string.
In COVID-19 news - Drinkwitz said none of his players or staff members are currently out due to the virus. He added there are a few players sick right now, but it is not COVID-19 related. Drinkwitz said the team last took a test Tuesday morning, and those results have not come back yet.
