COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at mile marker 123 on eastbound Interstate 70 Saturday.

The fire caused heavy smoke in the area.

Traffic was backed up for several miles on both eastbound and westbound lanes.

Traffic was moving normally on the westbound lanes after around one hour.
