COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:00 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reports there have been 5,198 COVID-19 cases in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

The health department reported 66 new cases of the virus on Saturday. Out of that number, 362 are currently active.

Sixteen people were hospitalized with the virus on Saturday.

The positivity rate in Boone County was at 6.8% on Saturday.

There were 27 people in ICU's with COVID-19 on Saturday.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports 144,230 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

Saturday's total of 5,066 new cases is a new record in the state.

In the last seven days, 9,390 new cases have been reported.

At least 2,075,699 people have been tested for the virus. The positivity rate in Missouri is at 14%.

The state has reported 62 new deaths in the last seven days. There have now been 2,422 deaths related to the virus.
