Boone County convicted murderer dies in prison

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Corrections is reporting convicted murderer 57-year-old William Salmon was pronounced dead at 3:40 Friday morning at the Jefferson City Correctional Center.

Salmon was serving life without parole for a Boone County murder.

Salmon killed a woman in September 1990. Salmon was found guilty in 2001.

Officials say Salmon died of "apparent natural causes."
