A probable cause statement was issued in the Aug. 23 shooting on the 1000 block of Claudell lane.

In the statement, the shooting victim says Amiyha Grant had been threatening him since June 2020 when they argued. The victim says on the morning of Aug. 23, another argument started and "The next thing I knew, I was shot."

The victim didn't report being shot because he has a warrant.

Four days later, Columbia police responded to a domestic disturbance and the victim told police he had been shot four days ago and needed medical attention.

In the probable cause statement, the officer and medical personnel saw the wound and said it was consistent to a gun shot would through the shoulder.

Grant faces one charge of domestic assault causing serious physical injury and armed criminal action.
