Moniteau County seeks transfer of murder suspect for October trial
CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The State of Missouri is seeking the transfer of murder suspect Sandy Gallaspie from Southwest Central Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri to the Moniteau County Courthouse on Oct. 16.
Gallaspie is accused of killing Jon Williams in 2015.
Suzanne Ponder and Gallaspie were linked to Williams’ murder when an inmate came forward at the end of June with information about where Williams’ body was buried in Cole County.
Gallaspie and Ponder allegedly lured Williams to a low water crossing on Mount Hope Road in Moniteau County in 2015 with promises of methamphetamine, according to the probable cause statement.
Ponder pleaded guilty to a felony charge of abandonment of a corpse back in August 2020. Ponder was sentenced to five years of supervised probation in connection with the death of Jon Williams.
Gallaspie admitted to police that he killed Williams and buried the body on Bess Hill Road, according to a probable cause statement. The Cole County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gallaspie in connection with a previous theft warrant. It was then that he admitted to the killing, court documents said.
