Missouri Task Force 1 activated ahead of Tropical Storm Sally

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Task Force has been activated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ahead of Tropical Storm Sally.

#MOTF1 will be departing the Boone County FIre Protection District HQ in #CoMO around 10:30 pm enroute to their staging location near Baton Rouge, LA. The Type 3 team, consisting of 46 personnel with an emphasis in water rescue capabilities, should arrive by noon Mon. pic.twitter.com/bX2FCTAnr0

MO-TF1 left the Boone County Fire Protection District headquarters in Columbia around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The team will be staging in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The team consists of 46 people with an emphasis on water rescue capabilities. They are expected to arrive in Baton Rouge around noon on Monday.
