Early morning shooting leaves property damaged in north Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Authorities are investigating after a shooting early Sunday morning in central Columbia left cars and an apartment building damaged.

According to police, officers responded to multiple calls for shots fired around 4:45 a.m. near the 1600 block of Towne Drive.

When officers arrived on scene they found cars on the street and one apartment building had been hit with gunfire.

According to a press release, officers spoke with a 23-year-old man who reported being shot at while walking in the area.

No suspects or injuries have been reported. Police said neither the victim or witnesses could provide a description of the shooter.

This is an ongoing investigation and a developing story.
