Mizzou football gives COVID-19 update

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz said four of his players are currently out after testing positive for COVID-19. He added there are 14 other players currently in quarantine due to contact tracing.

"This is the most number we've had out from COVID-related issues, so that's not ideal," Drinkwitz said on a Zoom news conference Tuesday. "We anticipated this would be the case with students back on campus and just kind of the way this thing has operated. I think our guys are still trying to do a really good job of practicing safe social distancing and trying to do the very best they can not to catch it or spread it."

Mizzou began another week of Fall Camp on Tuesday, but the media was not allowed to attend practice. The Tigers will open up their season on Saturday, Sept. 26 at home against Alabama.

On Tuesday, we also got the chance to speak with several players after practice. You can watch our full interviews with Tyler Badie, Mike Maietti, Darius Robinson, Stacy Brown and Devin Nicholson in the video players below.
