JCSD releases COVID-19 protocols for fall sports

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District announced its COVID-19 policies for the upcoming fall sports seasons on Tuesday.

Jefferson City and Capital City High School will both start their seasons with a 20% capacity limit. Both football teams will play their home games at Adkins Stadium, so there will be about 1,200 fans allowed in attendance.

Each player, coach and staff member will get to hand out 1-10 cards each week - depending on the current state of COVID-19 in Cole County.

For Week 1 - the home team will get to hand out four cards each, and the visiting team will get to hand out two cards each. JCSD said this can change week-to-week depending on guidance from the local health department.

According to JCSD's new policy, there will be a student section, but all students must wear a mask and stay six feet apart at all times. All fans will have to wear a mask when entering and leaving the stadium as well as whenever they get up from their seats.
