SATURDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports 50 new COVID-19 cases

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 8:40 P.M.: The Morgan County Health Center reported one new COVID-19 case Saturday.

There have been 94 cases reported in the County.

Out of those, 21 are currently active.

UPDATE 7:50 P.M.: The Howard County Public Health Department reported three new COVID-19 cases Saturday.

There are now 16 active cases in Howard County.

One person was removed from the list of active cases. There are now 47 recovered cases in the county.

UPDATE 5:10 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 50 new COVID-19 cases Saturday. That is a jump from 34 new cases reported on Friday.

The record for new daily cases was reported on Aug. 1 with 59 new cases.

The five-day average is 31.6, up from 25.8 on Friday.

There have been 1,587 cases reported in Boone County.

There are 304 active cases.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 66,397 COVID-19 cases Saturday. That is an increase from 65,270 on Friday.

The department reported 14 new deaths on Saturday bringing the death toll up to 1,346.

There were at least 871 Missouri residents hospitalized with the virus on Saturday.

At least 835,441 people in the state have been tested for the virus.
