Police investigating a shooting in downtown Columbia

COLUMBIA Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police are investigating after a shooting took place in downtown Columbia early Sunday morning.

According to CPD, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North 6th Street for reports of shots fired at 4:01 Sunday morning after receiving multiple calls for shots heard.

Nobody was reported injured but a truck was hit by gunfire, according to a press release.

Officers said they found 15 shell casings in the area.

Our crews on the scene said CPD had multiple evidence markers lining the 700 block of North 6th Street.

Officers say they do not have any suspects or motives for the shooting.
