SATURDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports record daily case increase

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:25 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 61 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, a new record.

The previous record for daily increases was 53.

There are currently 224 active cases of the virus.

UPDATE 5:45 P.M.: Morgan County reported a new COVID-19 case Saturday.

The health department is now reporting 66 cases of the virus with 17 active.

Howard County also reported one new case of the virus.

There are 11 active cases in Howard County and 31 recovered.

UPDATE 5:35 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 1,235 cases of COVID-19 Saturday.

The department reported 224 active cases out of that total number.

Officials report 1,007 people have been released from isolation in the county.

ORIGINAL: The Department of Health and Senior services reported 51,258 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

There have been 1,253 deaths reported related to the virus in the state.

At least 696,745 people have been tested for the virus.
