SUNDAY UPDATES: New COVID-19 cases in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:25 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

The county has now had a total of 1,051 cases.

There were 186 active cases of the virus on Sunday, a decrease from 193 on Saturday.

UPDATE 5:40 P.M.: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 1,218 new cases of Coronavirus on Sunday.

Sunday is the second day in a row the number of new cases has decreased.

The department reported 41,927 cases of the virus in the state on Sunday.

There have been at least 1,197 people who have died as a result of the virus.

ORIGINAL: The Morgan County Health Center reported new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

The county had four new active cases of the virus on Sunday bringing the total to 19.

There have been 58 cases reported total in the county.

The county has seen new cases for several days in a row.
