SATURDAY UPDATES: Boone, Saline County reports new COVID cases

COLUMBIA, Mo.

UPDATE 8:36 P.M.: Saline County reported five new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

There have been 385 total cases reported in the county.

There are 50 active cases in the county.

UPDATE 8:15 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

There were 1,039 cases on Saturday, an increase from 1,003 on Friday.

The department reported 193 active cases of the virus.

UPDATE 5:10 P.M.: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 40,709 cases of COVID-19 Saturday.

The increase was a jump of 1,357 from Friday.

The previous four days before Saturday, the state broke its daily record for new COVID cases.

The department reported 1,182 deaths from the virus on Saturday.

ORIGINAL: The Morgan County Health Center reported two new cases of COVID-19.

The county has had a total of 54 cases of the virus. Out of those cases, 15 are currently active.
