10-year-old dies after being found unresponsive

HERMANN, Mo. (KMIZ)

A child died on Saturday after being found unresponsive in the Gasconade Gardens area near Hermann.

Gasconade County Central Communications received a call at 4:28 a.m. Saturday indicating the child was unresponsive.

According to the Gasconade County Sheriff's Office, a deputy arrived on the scene at 4:56 a.m. and took over CPR that was already in progress. Emergency medical services then arrived at 5:02 a.m.

They were unable to revive the child.

An investigation was then initiated by the GCSO, State Technical Assistance Team, and the Gasconade County Coroner. No foul play is suspected.

The child's body was taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office where an autopsy will be conducted.

The child's name has not been released.
