SUNDAY UPDATES: Cole County sees record increase in COVID cases

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:11 P.M.: The Cole County Health Department reported 15 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, a record increase.

The county has a total of 149 cases.

Out of those, 56 are active. The department reported 43 active cases on Saturday.

UPDATE 6:40 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 758 cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

The department reported 327 active cases of the virus, an increase of 12 cases.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 310 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

The total number of cases in the state has reached 27,443.

The department did not report any new deaths Sunday.

The state reported 888 hospitalizations related to the virus Sunday.
