SUNDAY UPDATES: New active cases of COVID-19 in Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 6:45 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

The department is reporting a total of 273 cases of the virus.

There are currently 70 active cases of the virus in the county, an increase from 64 active cases on Saturday.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 18,003 cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

Sunday's spike in cases was another record, with an increase of 413 new cases.

The department also reported one new death related to the virus on Sunday, bringing that total up to 956.
