Boat explosion at Lake of the Ozarks leaves one dead

LAKE OZARKS, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was found dead at the Lake of the Ozarks after a boat explosion.

Shawn Carrol, 53, was found deceased in the engine compartment of the boat.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F did a brief search for Carrol after the explosion.

There were four people on the boat. The other three passengers were injured, two of them seriously.

According to Highway Patrol crash reports, the boat was docked when it exploded. They had filled the boat with fuel and restarted the engines when it exploded.

The 1999 Sea Ray was totaled and towed out of the lake.
