Mizzou AD firmly believes football season will kick off as scheduled

Mizzou athletic director Jim Sterk remains optimistic about the 2020 college football season, Sterk said in a letter to season ticket holders on Tuesday.

"I can tell you that we remain encouraged with the progress being made against the virus and firmly believe the Tigers will kick off as scheduled this fall," Sterk said in the letter.

Sterk added, "Mizzou Athletics will be guided in its decision-making by health professionals, governmental leaders, university officials and the SEC, while keeping health, safety and well-being at the forefront throughout the process."

Mizzou also scheduled a three-game series with Florida Atlantic on Tuesday. The Tigers and Owls will meet on the gridiron for the first time in 2027.
