COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a man on suspicion of felony driving while intoxicated after a chase and crash in northeast Columbia late Monday.

Officers arrested Lacy Jordan Jr., 65, after he hit another vehicle in the 1400 block of Boyd Lane, the Columbia Police Department said in a news release.

Police responded to Ria Street and Boyd Lane around 10 p.m. after a short vehicle chase.

One officer at the scene said police tried to pull over a vehicle near Hanover Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard when the driver fled from police. The CPD release said the driver was suspected of lane violations and speeding.

Officers chased the vehicle but then stopped the chase because of erratic driving. The car later crashed in the area of Ria and Boyd.

Jordan and Wayne Freelon, 52, of Columbia were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The release said the investigation is ongoing and no other details would be released.
