Battlehawks win home opener in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Battlehawks won their home opener over New York 29-9 in front of 29,554 fans at The Dome at America's Center on Sunday.

Former Mizzou wideout L'Damian Washington spoke highly of the fans after the game.

Quarterback Jordan Ta'amu was 12/18 for 119 yards through the air. Running back Matt Jones had 15 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown. You can see all of the stats from the game on the XFL's official website.

St. Louis is now 2-1 on the season. Up next - the Battlehawks will host Seattle at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
