Mizzou WBB loses fifth straight home game
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou women's basketball team lost 75-67 to Florida on Sunday afternoon. It's the Tigers fifth straight loss at home.
"Obviously, really disappointed in tonight's game," head coach Robin Pingeton said after the game. "100% on me. I didn't have our girls ready to go."
Aijha Blackwell led the Tigers with 20 points and six rebounds. Amber Smith had 13 points and eight rebounds.
MU outscored Florida 29-21 in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers were too far behind.
"We Figured it out by the fourth quarter," Pingeton said. "I felt like we really got after it, played with a sense of urgency, grittiness, toughness. We had that killer instinct. But, you can't get it done in 10 minutes. Not in the SEC. So, I've got to look myself in the mirror and figure out what I did or didn't do to get these guys ready to go."
The Gators had 29 bench points. Florida was 12-28 from three-point range.
The Tigers are now 6-19 overall and 3-9 in the SEC. Up next, MU will play at Vanderbilt on Thursday at 7 p.m.
