Mizzou basketball loses fourth straight game
MORGANTOWN, (W.Va) - The Mizzou basketball team dropped below .500 for the first time all season after a 74-51 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The Tigers are now 9-10 (1-5 SEC) and have lost four straight games.
Despite the final score, Mizzou held things close in the first half. Even after shooting 21.4 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes, the Tigers trailed the Mountaineers, 24-23.
However, the second half was a much different story. West Virginia went on a 21-0 run and put the game out of reach early in the second half. The run is the longest allowed by Mizzou's defense the entire season.
Torrence Watson was the lone Tiger to score in double figures. Watson scored 19 points, which is his second-highest mark of the season.
Mizzou returns home to face Georgia on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
