Tracking snow Thursday evening into Friday morning

A Weather Alert Day has been issued tonight through Friday afternoon for accumulating snow impacting both commutes through Friday morning.

TONIGHT: Moderate snow is expected this evening across mid-Missouri. Snow will begin accumulating on roadways after sunset. Accumulating snow will continue through 5am Friday before tapering off to light snow. Accumulations will slow down for the morning commute, but treacherous travel and snow-covered roads will be likely heading out the door.

FRIDAY: The heaviest of the snow will fall before sunrise Friday but impacts are expected to linger well into the morning commute-- remember less than an inch fell last night and there were problems all over HWY 63 this morning. We're expecting even more snow tonight. Build-in extra time and DRIVE for the conditions.

EXTENDED: Snow will taper off Friday evening and is expected to melt over the weekend. Saturday will feature mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 30s. Sunday will see slowly clearing skies. Temperatures will be in the 40s.
