Jefferson City traffic stop leads to pot bust

The Jefferson City Police Department said Wednesday a person was arrested Monday suspected of having several bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jefferson City Police Department said Wednesday one person was arrested Monday with several bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Kaharri Ray was arrested after officers stopped Ray at the 1500 block of Missouri Boulevard for a hazardous moving violation. JCPD said officers smelled marijuana coming from the car.

Jefferson City police say marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized from Kaharri Ray's car after a traffic stop Monday.

Multiple bags of marijuana along with plastic bags, a scale and cash were seized from Ray's car police said. The police department said Ray was arrested for driving while revoked as well as distribution of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lt. David Williams said a 13-year-old child was with Ray at the time of the arrest and was released to family members at the scene.
