Jefferson City, Cole County to share some tornado recovery expenses

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City and Cole County plan to share some tornado recovery expenses connected with a multi-agency warehouse.

The money is planned to go to Adventist Community Services for the work it put in at the time of the tornado. The expenses should not exceed $21,000, said Jefferson City Administrator Steve Cornwell.

Miller County will also assist in the recovery and could contribute around $2,000, Cornwell said.

The multi-agency warehouse worked with Capital West Christian Church and helped more than 400 families during the time of the tornado, according to its website.

Final amounts for the recovery were still being finalized, Cornwell said.
