Power restored to hundreds in west Columbia

374 Columbia Water & Light customers are without power in west Columbia.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) -

UPDATE 11:40 a.m.: The outage map shows all power is back on for customers in west Columbia.

UPDATE 11:30 a.m.: According to the Columbia Water and Light outage map, there is now only one outage impacting nearly 400 customers near Stadium Blvd. and Fairview Rd.

ORIGINAL: More than 1,600 Columbia Water and Light customers are without power Wednesday afternoon.

According to the outage map, 1,244 customers near Scott Blvd. lost power around 11 a.m.

Another 374 customers in the area of Stadium Blvd. and Fairview Rd. are also without power. In a Facebook post, Columbia Water and Light said crews found a dead squirrel near a riser pole that caused power to fail at a substation.
