Fr. Tolton Catholic High School principal not renewing contract

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The principal at Fr. Tolton Catholic High School has decided not to renew her position for the next school year, according to a news release.

Bishop W. Shawn McKnight said Partners in Mission would help in finding Gwen Roche's replacement.

The announcement comes nearly two months after the departure of the president of the school, Doug Callahan.

According to the release, Partners in Mission will look at either hiring a principal and president, or hiring a head of school, which would include the responsibilities of both of those positions.

“We are excited to engage with a company with the depth that Partners in Mission has,” Superintendent Kenya Fuemmeler said. “We believe they will be able to surface both local and national expertise for our school community.”

In the release, McKnight thanked Roche for her time at the high school.

“I am grateful to Mrs. Roche for her good service to our community and look forward to working with her in this transition time,” he said.

  1. No reason to bring in Callahan into this article – your reporting style implies she was fired. She may be retiring to bad you can’t report the truth – but hell anything to put a bad light on the Catholic Church – right.
