Moberly police ask public to help identify armed robbery suspect

One suspect is at large after an armed robbery at a Moberly store.

Bratcher's Fuel on South Morely Street was robbed around 6 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Moberly Police Department. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken, according to a store employee.

In a Facebook post, police shared photos of the male suspect, who was seen wearing a mask and holding a rifle.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his mid-20's wearing a dark hoodie, jeans and black Nike tennis shoes.

"The suspect left the scene in an unknown color mid-2000’s possibly Chevrolet Impala body style vehicle," police said in the online statement.

Sydney Turner, a former employee of Bratcher's, was in the gas station Sunday checking on her former coworker who was behind the counter during the robbery.

"It was really scary… because it really doesn't happen in this town," Turner said.

The employee who experienced the robbery told ABC17 News it was a scary experience, but he stayed calm and wasn't too shaken afterward.

"It could happen to anyone at any time you don't really think about it until it happens," Turner said. "I just hope this opens people's minds to like watch out for stuff and be more cautious and actually train for something like this."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Moberly Police Department at 660-263-0346 or the anonymous tip line at 660-269-8477.
