Mizzou wide receiver Maurice Massey has surgery on torn meniscus

A member of Mizzou Athletics confirmed to ABC 17 that wide receiver Maurice Massey underwent successful surgery on his torn meniscus in his right knee.

Massey suffered the injury this season, and the team spokesperson said the team hopes to have Massey back, healthy, for camp in the spring. However, this has not been determined at this time.

As a freshman, Massey appeared in four games for the Tigers. The St. Louis native came to Mizzou as a three-star recruit.

Standing in at 6'3", Massey has the frame and speed to make an impact on Mizzou's roster next season. Massey flashed with big plays during fall camp and saw game action early in the season.

The Tigers lose Jonathan Nance and Johnathon Johnson to graduation. Barring any changes with players transferring, Massey figures to be in the mix with Kam Scott, Jalen Knox, CJ Boone, Barrett Banister and Dominic Gicinto to see significant playing time in 2020-21.
