Columbia organizations provide Thanksgiving meals
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Multiple organizations in Columbia provided Thanksgiving meals on Thursday.
According to the American Farm Bureau, the average cost of this year's Thanksgiving feast for 10 is $48.91, roughly less than $5 per person.
The following organizations are providing meals in Columbia.
- The Salvation Army Harbor House at 602 N. Ann St., is offering a free community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
- The St. Francis House in Columbia is offering a free Thanksgiving meal at 5 p.m. Thursday.
- Everybody Eats is offering a free meal at the Columbia Senior Center, 1121 Business Loop 70 E., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Other organizations like the Rotary Club of Columbia are donating Thanksgiving meals. The Rotary club posted on its Facebook page Thursday that it was prepared to fry 120 turkeys.
The club donated 40 of the turkey to various organizations and sold 80 turkeys as a fundraiser to help fund projects.
A club spokesman said next year, the club plans to have 300 turkeys for the event.
