Police respond to area near Meadow Lark Lane in east Columbia.

UPDATE 9:00 a.m.: Columbia police confirmed one person was shot in the area of Shepard Boulevard Friday night.

Officials said an 18-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound on one arm.

Columbia police officers found evidence of a shooting in the area.

Authorities said there is no suspect description at this time.

ORIGINAL: Authorities were seen investigating in east Columbia late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

Columbia police responded to the area near Meadow Lark Lane around 11:45 p.m. Friday.

A former ABC 17 News Producer saw officers cleaning up glass at the scene. They also reported that people living in the area heard gunshots and people running.

The department's Crime Scene Investigations van was also at the scene.

We have contacted the Columbia Police Department for more information about the investigation.
