Mark
Mark Edwards, of Eldon, pleads guilty to sodomy charges in a 2018 case on Nov. 19, 2019.

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A former School of the Osage teacher pleaded guilty to statutory sodomy of a person less than 14 years old on Tuesday.

Mark Edwards, of Eldon, was accused of touching a student inappropriately on two separate occasions in April 2018.

A detective with the sheriff's office looked at the school bus video and saw Edwards sitting next to the student. The detective said the video showed Edwards kissing the student on the head, according to court documents filed in the case.

During an interview with investigators, Edwards said he rubbed the student's leg under her clothing and touched her in a sexual manner, court documents said.

Edwards is set to be sentenced in February.
