Another warm day before the next winter blast

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s to around 40.

WEDNESDAY: Increasing clouds, highs in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: We're in for several changes over the next couple of weeks as our pattern looks to stay active and cold across Mid-Missouri. Warmer air will begin to move in Wednesday ahead of low pressure to our south. At the same time, a much colder air mass is slated to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday morning as a cold front moves across the region. Ongoing rain showers across southern Missouri on Wednesday night could briefly transition to wet snow showers Thursday morning for a short time for areas south of I-70. No accumulation is expected, but it will be cold for all of Thursday with highs in the upper 30s and lows in the low 20s to start Friday. We warm up a bit on Saturday, but even cold air starts to move in Sunday and lasts into early next week with highs in the low 30s and lows in the upper teens and low 20s on Monday night.
