Jefferson City Police Department is investigating a crash on Highway 50.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, authorities responded to calls of a crash in the westbound lane of the highway.

One driver said she slowed down as the sun was glaring in her eyes. Shortly after, another driver slowed down due to glares from the sun.

The second driver then allegedly rear-ended the first driver who slowed down. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and had minor injuries.

Authorities said they shut down parts of the highway during the investigation, but they are now back open.
