Outage follows car crash at power pole in Moberly

KMIZ

A 19-year-old Moberly man crashed into an Ameren pole after losing control of his vehicle, police say.

The Moberly Police Department responded to the 600 block of N. Morely St. around 3 p.m. for the incident. Officers found a car on its roof near Union Ave.

The driver, identified by police as Richard Baker, suffered minor injuries.

All lanes of Morely St. were closed while Ameren repaired the damage. The road reopened around 5 p.m., police say.

The company's outage map showed an outage in the same area of Moberly starting around 4 p.m. Sunday. The cause of the outage was "wire damage," according to the site. As many as nine customers were impacted at one point.

All power is expected to be restored by late Sunday evening, according to the outage map display at 8:40 p.m.
