Columbia police detain one person after argument involving gunshots

Columbia police detained one person after shots were fired in North Columbia.

An argument led to gunshots on Newton Dr., north of I-70 at Providence Rd., Sunday afternoon, according to CPD Sgt. Bruce Houston.

No one was injured, and it's unclear if the suspect was aiming at the other person involved, police say.

Officers were speaking with neighbors about the incident as they opened up part of Newton Dr. The road was closed for less than an hour after police responded around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
