Gas station fire near Blackwater causes backup on Interstate 70

Mid-Missouri fire crews say a gas station just off Interstate 70 is fully involved in a fire Friday.

BLACKWATER, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 10:45 p.m.: The MODOT traveler map shows Interstate 70 is back open at the Route J intersection as fire crews work to put out a fire at the Stuckey's gas station. Our crew at the scene says five Mid-Missouri crews responded to the scene. Blackwater Area Fire Protection District, Saline County Fire Protection District, Pilot Grove Rural Fire Protection District, Concordia Fire District and Boonville Fire Department are fighting the blaze at Stuckey's.

UPDATE 10:24 p.m.: Our crew at the scene still saw smoke coming out of the Stuckey's building. Fire crews around Mid-Missouri responded to the fire.

UPDATE 9:57 p.m.: Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A says the fire at the gas station has been contained.

UPDATE 9:41 p.m.: Missouri troopers say a building fire just off Interstate 70 has reached the fuel pumps at the Stuckey's gas station.

Authorities in Cooper County confirm crews closed Route J near Blackwater after a fire was called out at a gas station just off Interstate 70.

According to the Blackwater Area Fire Protection District, the Stuckeys at exit 84 on 70 is fully involved in the blaze.

The MODOT traveler map shows the Route J was closed for a police emergency at 8:51 p.m
