No injuries after rollover crash on Highway 54 in Jefferson City

A driver and his dog were unhurt after a tire blew out on a trailer, causing a boat, camper and truck to overturn Monday on Highway 54 in Jefferson City.

Jefferson City police said the crash, which happened at about noon, could take until mid-afternoon to clear. One lane of Highway 54 westbound in Jefferson City was expected to remain closed during that time.

Police said the driver was from Michigan and was on his way to Texas. The truck was pulling a camper and a boat on a trailer near Highway 179 when a tire on the trailer blew out, causing the trailer and camper to overturn, police said. The truck then lost control and overturned, police said.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
