Prosecutors file charges in March shooting

Prosecutors charged a man in Boone County in connection with a shooting on Highway VV in March.

According to court documents, Richard Johnson fired a gun at the victim from a moving vehicle multiple times March 25. Investigators said they found shell casings at the scene that later matched the gun found in Johnson’s possession.

Documents said a witness said Johnson fired the gun at the victim because Johnson was using methamphetamine at the time, and he was paranoid.

Online court records show Johnson’s bond was set at $100,000. A court date has not been set.
